» Projects Sesquicentenary Website, Day at the Races Flash Invite, at Mitchell Presentation
» Brief The State Library of NSW approached MILK to design a website for the celebration of 150 years of parliament in NSW – Sesquicentenary of responsible government in NSW. The website would link to parliamentary papers from an internal database of historical documents. The library then turned to MILK to create a high impact presentation of their new atmitchell website and an invitation to a new exhibition on the history of racing in Australia.
» Challenge Making a database of parliamentary papers more digestible is always a challenge. Working with the library’s internal IT department, MILK was also required to create templates to display search results from the database of documents. With the atmitchell presentation, this needed to capture the dynamic nature of the website and include sound to attract uses attention. Day at the races had a similar requirement.
» Results Clever use of some of the parliamentary documents in Flash creates a great historical feel for the sesquicentenary website, peaking interest in the website as a resource for looking into the past 150 years! The atmitchell presentation was so successful the library asked us to author a version onto DVD for presentation in their theatres. Day at the races will no doubt be one of many Flash invites we create for the libraries many exhibitions.
